Intermittent fasting involves periods of entirely or partially abstaining from eating. There are many methods of intermittent fasting that vary in the number of fast days and the calorie allowances.

If you are interested in trying intermittent fasting, I recommend going slow. There’s no reason to jump right to 16 hours on day one. If it is too uncomfortable for you, you’re setting up for failure. So, start slow and stay smart.

1. Fast for 12 hours a day
a. Fast 12 hours out of the day, leaving an eating window of 12 hours.
2. Fast for 16 hours a day
