Just Hit Play

Music has wonderful health benefits. It has been proven to ease and manage pain/perception of pain, reduces stress, elevate mood and decrease anxiety, provide comfort, improve cognition, help with weight loss and improve exercise just to name a few.

Now I love to listen to music, but especially when I’m working out. In fact, the only time I’m not listening to music is if I’m swimming, cycling outside or competing in a race (for safety reasons). I’m always looking for good songs to create a perfect playlist. It may sound silly, but I have multiple playlists for multiple things. For example, I have a playlist for weightlifting in which all of the songs have a slower pace so I can lift in rhythm to the music. Another playlist is for cycling on the indoor trainer. In order to help keep my cadence at a certain speed I use songs with specific tempos. I could go on and on but I think you get the idea.

If you haven’t tried exercising with music I highly encourage you to try it and if you already are, wonderful!

Below are a few of my current favorite songs. If you have a favorite song please let me know as I’m always looking for new music.

Good God Almighty by Crowder

Lil Bit by Florida Georgia Line/Nelly

Steal My Girl by One Direction

My Jesus by Anne Wilson

Miss Me More by Kelsea Ballerini

Good As Hell by Lizzo
